Classroom Expectations
August 28, 2008I thought I might take the opportunity to tell you about one of my classroom rules. By the 6th grade students know what is and what is not appropriate behavior. Students know that when the teacher is talking they should be listening. If a student is doing something inappropriate while I am talking, I will take whatever it is that the student is doing. If a student is doing work for another teacher, I will take that work. If a student is reading a book, I will take the book. Anything that I take goes in my May box, and the item will be returned to the student in May. I will return library books to the library instead of keeping them until May.
I will give the inappropriate items to parents if they want to come pick them up.
